1. Conflict of Interest
All authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest—financial or otherwise—that could be perceived as influencing their objectivity. This includes any relationship directly relevant or indirectly related to the work described in the manuscript.
Potential conflicts of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Patent or stock ownership
- Membership on a company’s board of directors or advisory committee
- Consultancy or receipt of speaker’s fees from a company
The existence of a conflict of interest does not preclude publication.
If there is no conflict of interest to declare, authors must explicitly state this at the end of the manuscript, before the REFERENCES section. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that all authors are informed of this policy and that all relevant relationships are disclosed in:
- The cover letter (if applicable)
- The manuscript (in footnotes, Conflict of Interest, or Acknowledgments section)
- The online submission system
2. Plagiarism Policy
All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software. By submitting a manuscript, authors agree that their work may be checked against previously published material.
Submission requirements:
- Manuscripts must be original and not previously published in whole or in part, except as an abstract.
- Manuscripts published previously in another language are not eligible.
- Manuscripts must not be under consideration by another journal.
3. Categories of Articles
3.1 Original Research
Research in morphological sciences (e.g., anatomy, histology, embryology, morphogenesis, anthropology, cytology, cytogenetics, reproductive and developmental biology).
- Max: 18 typed pages
- References: ≤ 30
- Abstract: Structured
3.2 Case Reports
Reports must include a brief description of the embryological basis for the variation and its practical, clinical, evolutionary, or anthropological significance.
- Max: 10 typed pages
- Max: 3 figures, 1 table
- References: ≤ 15
- Abstract: Unstructured
3.3 Reviews (Systematic, Comprehensive, Meta-analyses)
Critical analyses of a topic, with historical, current, and future perspectives.
- No page or reference limit
- Abstract: Unstructured
3.4 Clinical Images
Interesting clinical photographs or images (CT, MRI, histological, etc.) from unusual cases.
- Word limit: 300
- Max: 3 figures, 5 references
- Abstract: Unstructured
3.5 Short Communications
Brief reports of new research findings.
- Word limit: 2,000 (excluding references)
- Max: 3 figures
- Summary: ≤ 100 words
3.6 Letters to the Editor
Published at the editor’s discretion.
- Word limit: 500
- References: ≤ 5
- No abstract
Note: All articles undergo double-blind peer review. Only manuscripts in English are accepted.
4. Manuscript Preparation
4.1 General Formatting
- Paper size: 8.5″ × 11″ (22 × 28 cm)
- Margins: ≥ 1″ (2.5 cm) on all sides
- Double-spaced, simple formatting
- American English spelling
- Follow Terminologia Anatomica (1998) for anatomical terms; eponyms may be included in parentheses
- Numbers: Write out one to ten; use numerals above ten
- Units: Metric system
- Dates: Month Day, Year format (e.g., October 11, 2012)
4.2 Structure of Main Document
The main document (without author details) should be in the following order, each starting on a new page:
- Article Title
- Abstract (Structured: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions; ≤ 250 words)
- Keywords (≤ 85 characters, separated by semicolons)
- Introduction
- Materials and Methods (include ethics approval)
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusions
- References (Vancouver style, in order of citation)
- Acknowledgments
- Conflicts of Interest
- Figure Legends
- Tables
4.3 Separate Title Page
Submit separately in DOCX format, containing:
- Full article title
- Running title (≤ 48 characters)
- Authors’ full names (surname in bold) and affiliations
- Corresponding author contact details (email, telephone, address)
- Manuscript category

- All must be cited in the text and numbered consecutively
- Tables: Simple format, titles above table, footnotes below
- Figures: Submit as separate TIFF/JPEG/EPS files
- B/W images: ≥ 600 dpi
- Color images: ≥ 300 dpi (no extra charge for color)
- Line drawings: ≥ 600 dpi (preferably 1200 dpi)
- Legends: At the end of the manuscript after references/tables

Page proofs will be sent electronically to the corresponding author. Corrections must be returned promptly following the provided instructions.
