Abstract

Introduction: The general objective of this study was to determine the incidence of agenesis of the pyramidalis muscles in a sample population of male cadavers present in the department of Human anatomy and cell biology, Faculty of basic medical sciences, Delta State university Abraka. Material and Methods: This study was conducted in the department of human anatomy and cell biology, faculty of basic medical sciences, Delta state university Abraka using the simple random sampling technique. Results: The result showed that the pyramidalis was seen in 7(70.0%) of the cadavers and absent in 3(30.0%). The morphometry of pyramidalis also varies with its incidence. Conclusion: The muscle morphometric unevenness and its proven applications will help surgeons during lower abdominal wall surgeries.
